Torridon Estate Overview
Location: Torridon, Highlands, Scotland
Standing in 150 acres of private grounds on the northern shore of Loch Torridon, the Torridon estate is a haven for local wildlife with the main house is surrounded by lawned gardens flanked by mature native trees. The imposing Torridon House was built in 1875 and is a classic example of a Scottish Victorian Lodge set amidst Scotland’s stunning west coast landscape.
Owners Sarah and Felix offers guests a unique experience at this Highland gem which is more a grand family home with rooms offering bed and breakfast than a hotel. There are five comfortable and restful guest rooms located in the main house, all with ensuite facilities. The estate also has a number of cottages which are typically let on a 7 night basis.
As well as exploring the loch and the estate, the area is renowned for super local walks and hikes and this includes a number of nearby Munros: Beinn Eighe, Liathac, Beinn Alligin and Slioch.
Further afield there’s a great beach at Applecross with the Applecross Inn is a very popular restaurant for lunch. Further north near Badachro you’ll find the stunning and remote Red Point Beach. Torridon and Wester Ross are popular destinations as part of any good North Coast 500 itinerary.
