The Plockton Hotel Overview
Location: Plockton, West Highlands, Scotland
Plockton is one of Scotland’s prettiest west coast villages standing on the water’s edge in a sheltered bay overlooking Loch Carron. Once a crofting and fishing community, the conservation village of Plockton has carefully preserved its heritage and is a popular North Coast 500 stopping point as well as a sought after anchorage for visiting yachts. Plockton is also a great base from which to explore the Isle of Skye, the Kyle of Lochalsh, Glenelg and the Applecross peninsula.
The family-run Plockton Hotel is a pretty traditional building right on the seafront with its own beer garden offering exceptional view across the beach to Loch Carron. The hotel has 11 cosy bedrooms, all ensuite and for larger groups there’s a separate cottage annexe where guests can still enjoy use of the hotel facilities.
The hotel restaurant offers hearty food with the accent of locally caught seafood and produce. In the warmer months, food can be served in the beer garden and the bar stocks a wide choice of craft ales, Scottish gins and, of course, the odd dram or two.
The seasonal delights of Plockton are within walking distance and include local shops, a café and restaurants as well as a visitor centre. There are great local walks and a boat tour of Loch Carron usually runs from April to October.
