Doxford Hall Overview

Location: Near Alnwick, Chathill, Northumberland, England

Built in 1818 in the classical Georgian style and set within an enchanting private estate, Doxford Hall is the epitome of a luxury English country house hotel. Restored and updated over the years, the hotel still retains a wealth of period features and offers guests Regency grandeur but with a comfortable, homely feel.

Doxford Hall has a choice of 36 guest rooms and suites located in the main house and in the restored coach house. Some rooms are dog-friendly, some accessible and some feature four poster beds. The hotel’s George Runciman restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and prides itself on using the very best local produce from the local area.

The hotel has its own Aqueous Spa with an indoor heated swimming pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. A range of spa treatments are offered in one of five tranquil therapy suites.

Located a few minutes from the A1 on the ever-popular Northumberland coast, there’s a huge amount to do and see locally. From long beach and country walks to visiting Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick Castle and gardens, the Cragside Estate, Chillingham Estate and Lindisfarne Island, also known as Holy Island.
