"Salzburg is a magical city infused with breathtaking vistas, romantic architecture and historically significant sights. A walk through Cathedral Square will place you in the heart of it all where you can take in the city’s famous gothic cathedral and St. Peter’s Abbey as well as the nearby grand Residenz State Rooms, a regal baroque palace once occupied by the archbishops of Salzburg and the location of Mozart’s first musical performance."

The Wolf-Dietrich was particularly good. The balcony - and the good weather - and the view over the city - meant that the 'in-between' times weren't in-between times at all. And the staff were very friendly - the waitresses and waiter made breakfast very comfortable, and the food was fresh and distinctive. Complimentary coffee and cakes were welcome too. We thought we'd usually miss them because we'd be away somewhere, but I think we were there for a mid-afternoon rest almost every day.
